The holotype of Lysiosquilla crassispinosa Fukuda ,1909,which is currently assigned to the genus Bathysquilla Manning,1963,was discovered in the collection of the University Museum ,University of Tokyo.The discovery of the specimen invalidates the selection of the neotype of B.crassispinosa .Several o ther stomatopod specimens cited in Fukuda'papers and now located in the University Museum, University of Tokyo,are re-identified.Gonodactylus childi Manning ,1971 is reported for the first time from Japanese waters.
