Bahia, which today is the second largest onshore wind power generator in Brazil, has favorable characteristics that enhance its development in the offshore segment. With continuous advances in R&D in the wind sector, this article aims to identify the potential of wind resources in the Bahia coast. In this sense, an analysis was performed, through statistical metrics, of the performance of the WRF model by simulating the local wind speed behavior, with the in-situ records of the oceanographic buoys. The analysis showed that the WRF model was able to reproduce the wind speed characteristics in the region of interest.
