The paper presents reflections based on the thoughts of authors like Morin, Cross and Schön, among others, concerning the organization of knowledge in a society in which the logic of the modern subject prevails. It identifies contributions from the Design field, to help us achieve an education that provides ways of dealing with complexity. In this context, some teachinglearning aspects of the process of design are highlighted. Aspects that favor the development of social-emotional skills -, including abilities to deal with our own emotions, to build relationships with others, and to manage life goals in a context of change – important not only in the specific field of design teaching, but also in the general training of individuals. Finally, the role of design in schools is discussed, considering the subjectivity production process in a contemporary society.
