In this article, we look at the photographic look and make through images whose theme is Graffiti Art in Florianópolis, capital of the state of Santa Catarina. The photographic records of the images under study were produced during the workshop "Photographic Composition", about the visual syntax in the design and production of photographs in the urban context, with the use of smartphones. Subsequently, the set of selected images was presented to the public in a printed catalog and in two exhibitions held at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. The obvious interest in this study is to observe the existence of a repertoire with elements and basic aspects of visual syntax, which can and should be contemplated in the planning of the composition and the photographic act. In addition to assisting in the technical-visual training of the photographer, when considered properly, this repertoire does not impede creativity, allowing the occurrence of novelties in the performance of visual records. In the photographic images produced, too, they are recomposed and take on other meanings, the scenes that were first realized as Graffiti paintings. Thus, with descriptions and interpretations of some photographic images, the results of this study indicate how the photographic language changes the urban reality and, also, evidence the aesthetic-subjective expression of each author or author. The occurrence of copyright peculiarities is due to the world view that has been and continues to be developed throughout the existence of each photographer.
