To simulate the beach morphodynamics and the behaviour of nearshore bars and their evolution, from the shoaling to the swash areas, an hydrodynamic model based on the finite elements (Reflux2dv), coupled with a sedimentary model of the bathymetric evolution, is presented. This model is based on the extended Boussinesq equations and uses the Total Variation Diminishing schemes (TVD). The relevance of the model to simulate the changes in the bathymetric profile during formation and migration of a bar is carried out by using the experimental test done by Dette et al. 2002. An application of this coupling is done in the real case of the Rousty beach (delta of the Rhone).
