Данная статья посвящена одному из ведущих вузов Республики Казахстан Казахскому национальному аграрному исследовательскому университету. Актуальность статьи обусловлена тем, что опыт КазНАИУ по трансформации в исследовательский университет на сегодняшний день является показательным для многих вузов постсоветского пространства. Авторы статьи поделились опытом трансформации вуза в национальный исследовательский университет. В статье расскрываются особенности перехода данного университета к новой модели управления. Авторы дают полную информацию об истории развития университета, а также поделились новыми задачами, поставленными перед университетом. Авторы делятся опытом организации учебно-методической работы университета во время пандемии Cоvid–19.В статье показана значимость международных коллабораций в рамках управления развития университетом, авторы статьи показали положительный опыт КазНАИУ в продвижении университета в международное научно-образовательное пространство. По мнению авторов, только через интеграцию в мировую образовательную систему национальные вузы смогут стать конкурентноспособными и соответствовать новым вызовам времени. Поэтому, следующим этапом развития университета определена трансформация в национальный исследовательский вуз мирового класса. This article is devoted to one of the leading universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University. The relevance of the article is due to the fact that the experience of KazNARU on transformation into a research university today is indicative for many universities in the post-Soviet space. The authors of the article shared their experience of transforming a university into a national research university. The article reveals the features of the transition of this university to a new management model. The authors provide complete information about the history of the development of the university, and also shared the new tasks set for the university. The authors share their experience in organizing educational and methodological work of the university during the Covid-19 pandemic.The article shows the importance of international collaborations in the framework of university development management, the authors of the article showed the positive experience of KazNARU in promoting the university into the international scientific and educational space. According to the authors, only through integration into the world educational system will national universities be able to become competitive and meet the new challenges of the time. Therefore, the next stage in the development of the university is the transformation into a world-class national research university.
