Mini incision techniques for carpal tunnel release have become increasingly popular for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. The main advantages of mini incision techniques are shorter recovery and return-to-work time. However, the risk of neurovascular injury still remains worrisome. We present a novel method to release the carpal tunnel by using nasal instruments. This novel technique combines the advantages of endoscopic and open techniques while utilizing standard instruments. The advantages, disadvantages and results of this technique are discussed.
