Class-E amplifier has the potential todeliver high efficiency required for the nextgeneration wireless systems. In this journal, wediscuss a novel load pull analysis technique tocharacterize the efficiency performance of Class-Eamplifier in an outphasing power combiningscheme. Class-E amplifier is not an ideal currentor voltage source as is required for the traditionalanalysis of outphasing structures. It requires aphase modulated input signal and has a non-lineartransfer characteristic which is a function of loadimpedance. Here we define an operating loadlocus based on the load pull analysis which can beused to predict the non-linear transfer function,efficiency, output power, input drive phase andmany other factors associated with the outphasingclass-E amplifier. This scheme could also be usedto characterize any amplifier class in anoutphasing structure. Finally modulationperformance of Class-E amplifier using PWMtechnique is also presented
