本論文は, 回路における繰り返し規則性を抽出するための一手法を提案する。一般にプリント配線板およびLSIチップ内には制御回路のようにランダムな構造を持つ回路ブロックだけではなく, 繰り返し規則性を持った回路ブロックも多く存在している。そのような回路ブロックでは, あらかじめ規則性を抽出し, それに基づいてレイアウトを行うことは高密度で均一な特性を持つ回路を実現する上できわめて有効である。提案する手法は, 対象とする回路において, 各ネットが含むセルの種類と端子名に着目して各ネット間の類似度を求め, ファジィ理論を適用して規則性を抽出するものである。従来, 繰り返し規則性の抽出手法は提案されているが, 本手法は厳密には一致していないネット同士でも規則性を抽出することが可能であるという特長を有する。実際に, 厳密には一致していないが非常に類似性の高い回路モジュールが繰り返し規則的に出現する例は非常に多く, 本手法は広い適用対象を持つ。本論文では, 提案する手法の原理について述べた後, 計算機実験による結果を示し, 有効性を明らかにしている。
