Agナノ粒子複合めっきによって得られたSn-Ag合金めっき皮膜の組成は共晶組成に近く, 広い電流密度範囲でほぼ一定であった。複合めっきによるSn-Ag合金皮膜の硬さは溶製合金より大きく, 溶融後に急冷することによってさらに硬くなった。この硬さ変化は, 急冷によってAg, Sn微細粒子の分布が均一になるという微細組織変化と対応づけられた。Sn-Ag複合めっきを施したCu素地へのはんだボールの接合強度は, 清浄な試験片で比較する限りCu素地に直接接合した場合よりもわずかに低下した。しかし, Cu素地に直接接合した場合とは異なって湿潤環境への暴露後にも低下せず, 下地にNiめっきを施すことによって幾分向上した。
