A case of intradural meningioma associated with ossification of the yellow ligament was reported.A seventy-one-year-old woman consulted our hospital, complaining of paresthesia in both lower extremities and low back pain. At first we thought these symptoms were caused by degenerative spondylolisthesis of the IVth lumbar vertebra. But about 4 months after first consultation she complained of paresthesia lesion below Xth thoracic level.Plain CT demonstrated ossification of the yellow ligament from Xth to XIth interthoracic levels.She was admitted to our hospital because of deterioration of gait and sensory disturbance.Myelography showed “cap” shaped complete block between VIIth and VIIIth thoracic levels, suggesting intradural extramedullary mass. Metriramide CT also demonstrated intradural extramedullary tumor at the same level.Then laminectomy and tumor excision were performed. Pathological diagnosis of the specimen was psammomatous meningioma.
