1. Serum is separated from 5 ml of blood of a lepromatous leprosy patient by the usual way. 2. Amberlite IR 120 is conditioned with 1 N hydrochloric acid. 3. Amino acids and amines absorbed on Amberlite IR 120 are eluted with IN ammonium hydroxide. 4. The filtrate is well mixed with ethylether after a small quantity of strong ammonium hydroxide is added. 5. The ethylether layer is separated by a separating funnel. 6. Ethylether soluble amines are chilled by the evaporation of ethylether in vacuo, and the remaining ice is tested by the paperchromatography after the ice is melted. 7. The conditions of paperchromatography are as follows : descending two dimensional paperchromatography by Toyoroshi No. 50 filter paper with A and B solvents; solvent A, n-butanol, acetic acid, water (4:1:5) and solvent B, water saturated n-butanol. Spots are revealed fly ninhydrin color reaction.
