ベトナムのハンセン病専門治療施設・病院Xでは、ハンセン病元患者の社会経済状況改善を目的とした自立支援プログラムが実施されている。本研究は自立支援プログラムについて元患者の立場からプログラムに対する評価をフォーカスグループインタビューによって行ってもらった。プログラム参加者からは肯定的な変化として収入の増加や健康状態の改善などが挙げられ、無利子で事業資金の融資が受けられる点が評価された。一方、家畜の病気の流行やハンセン病を理由に買い手から値下げを要求されるなどのリスクが挙げられ、事業を行う上での困難も明らかとなった。また若年グループはプログラムに関心を抱いているが、事業資金返済に対して不安を抱いていることが明らかとなった。現行の自立支援プログラムに対しては事業資金返済開始の時期や融資額の変更などの要望が寄せられた。これらを踏まえ、元患者のニーズに沿った自立支援プログラムが必要であると考えられる。(著者抄録)One of the leprosy treatment centers (hospital X) in Vietnam offers loan programs to start work as part of the socio-economic rehabilitation program for ex-leprosy patients. The aim of this study is to examine and evaluate the contents of the program from the ex-leprosy patients\u27 perspective. The interview group was sub-divided into three groups: male/female and the younger group. A focus group interview method was used to collect qualitative data. The participant program group revealed that their income increased and their health condition improved; moreover, they evaluated the program highly as they can borrow business loan at no interest. Meanwhile, the participants were challenged with a few problems: the frequency in the illness of the livestock and the forcible discounting in the livestock\u27s price by the customers who use the excuse that the livestock has been raised by ex-leprosy patients. The younger group had concerns regarding the program; they were worried about the repayment of the business loan. Both groups noted points to improve the current program especially in terms of changing the loan repayment schedule and loan volume.
