The geoconservation is comprised by the actions aiming the geoheritage preservation. Besides its relevance in taking systemic measures for nature preservation, the large scale use of these actions is not yet frequent. This fact comes from the recent origin of basic concepts in the research field, from the difficulties in understanding the methodological steps in this scope and the lack of interest of the public administrations concerning environmental issues. In this context, the present article takes a theoretical discussion as a base to treat geoconservation practical studies with a main focus in the geoheritage inventory, and qualitative and quantitative evaluation steps.
