This work it is a study under the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFC) on the movement of constitution of the pedagogical and curricular identity of physical education (EF) and its legitimacy. The research problem was summarized in the following question: how the pedagogical and curricular identity of EF under the IFC has been made? It is characterized as a qualitative work, exploratory base and case study. The main procedures for obtaining the information were: document analysis, participant observation and semi-structured interviews. Among the findings of the survey, in summary, it was concluded that the establishment of the pedagogical and curricular identity of the EF within the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina has been configured in relational processes, social representations, in the pedagogical and curricular action in the social recognition of their principles and codes and the movement itself that this research produced inside the dingy campus.
