The research was conducted on the educational transition of traditional Normal Schools, Normal Institute for Eastern Men (INVO) and Normal Institute for Ladies of the Orient (INSO) with the cessation of the Master’s degree in Primary Education and implementation-start of the Bachelor of Science and Letters with orientation in Education, from the municipality of Chiquimula towards initial and continuous training. The methodology used: design of qualitative research, descriptive scope, case study method, interview techniques, discussion groups, focus groups and as an interview guide tool. The study population covered the students of the Baccalaureate in Sciences and Letters with guidance in Education enrolled in the institutes in mention, teachers, authorities, parents and community leaders of the municipality of Chiquimula.
