From 26 cows of Holstein-Friesian, which had been excluded from production for diff erent etiologic reasons, the udder was taken in order to monitor the changes that appeared in cow’s udder parenchyma. Aft er macroscopic examination, the tops of papillae were taken to obtain an information on the thickness of a stratum cornum of ducuts papillaris and the samples from the parenchyma size 1 cm2 were used for further histological analysis. Th e thickness of stratum corneum in 104 ducuts papillaris varied from 90 to 370 μm. Histological examination of 104 cow’s udder parenchyma, 25 (24.04%) parenchyma had a very high leukocyte infi ltration. Using statistical data processing the existence of negative correlation was observed, indicating that with increasing the thickness of the stratum corneum of ductus papillaris there was a decline in the leukocyte infi ltrates in cow’s udder parenchyma. Our results indicate that stratum corneum of ductus papillaris infl uences the udder parenchyma.
