The medieval settlement in Şibot (Cânepişte) was investigated in 2012 through archaeological excavations determined by the archaeological discharge of the site when the Al, Orăştie Sibiu motorway (sector Orăştie Sebeş was under construction). The zone, rich from an archaeological point of view, confirmed the presence of a medieval settlement of the l 5h century, destroyed during the battle of October 13, 1479. This article presents the results ofthe preliminary analysis ofthe archaeological vestiges and finds excavated on the above mentioned site. There have been outlined a large variety of archaeological vestiges, such as: dwellings, refuse pits, fountains, inhumation graves, a road. Also, the artefacts are diverse: from ceramic objects, metal tools, to medieval weaponry. One have to mention that, beside the habitat of the I 5h c., was identified a levei of habitation of the 12h_13th centuries, represented by specific archaeological materials: pots adomed with the combs, as well as clay buckets. The presented data are completing the general image ofthe (upon) site and the daily life in the Middle Ages.
