The energy ratios of the reflected and refracted waves at the boundary between transversely isotropic media have been investigated. The energy equation has been derived on two bases, namely as (a) double of the kinetic energy, (ft) double of the potential energy. The ratios of the derived waves to that of the incident quasilongitudinal wave have been calculated for the particular case, where the symmetry axes of the media coincide with the normal to the boundary surface. The influence of varying the different elastic parameters is shown in a few diagram
