It appears that crop diversification, gender issues and nutrition education are among the i mportantfactorsthatstrengthenthelinkbetweenagricultureandnutrition.Sincefoodproductionisthemostwater-intensive activityinsociety,nutritionalwaterproductivity(i.e.nutritionpervolumewater)o ffoodsandthenutritionalwaterfootprint ofdietsshouldbeinvestigatedinordertoachieveasustainablesolution.Thisimpliesthatboththedemandforadietconsist- i ngpredominantlyofwater-productiveplantproducts,aswellasthesupplythereof,beaddressed.
