Objectifs: L’objectif de cette etude etait de rechercher une eventuelle presence de bacteries Ferrooxydantes, en particulier les Thiobacillus et les Leptospirillum , et d’evaluer leur contribution dans la lixiviation des minerais de cuivre. Methodologie et resultats: Nous avons selectionne deux types d’echantillons de la solution de lixiviation : le filtrat de la pulpe et la pulpe. Chaque echantillon a ete ensemence sur le milieu thioglycholate resazurine et repique sur gelose au sang en anaerobiose. Aucune des deux bacteries recherchees n’a pousse dans le filtrat de la pulpe tandis que Thiobacillus ferrooxidans a ete isole dans le solide de la pulpe. L’influence de la temperature et du pH de 1,5 au coeur du terril a varie suite a l’activite de la chaleur microbienne, ainsi que les sources d’energies pour la croissance microbienne qui etaient favorables au developpement de Thiobacillus et defavorables au developpement de Leptospirillum qui croit seulement sur le Fe 2+ et a un pH tres acide, inferieur a 1, dans la lixiviation des minerais du cuivre. Conclusion et applications: Dans notre etude sur les transformations chimiques realisees par les organismes vivants (biogeochimie) dans la lixiviation du cuivre, seul Thiobacillus ferrooxidans a ete detecte. La lixiviation est surtout employee dans le cas des minerais du cuivre, car le sulfate de cuivre forme pendant l’oxydation des minerais de sulfure de cuivre est tres soluble dans l’eau. Cependant, Acidithiobacillus et d’autres procaryotes metallo-oxydants peuvent catalyser l’oxydation des sulfures mineraux a un taux plus eleve, contribuant ainsi a la mise en solution du metal. Mot-cles: lixiviation, cuivre, metallo-oxydants, anaerobiose, pulpe English Title: Biogeochemical study of the copper production by the research of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans and Leptospirillum ferrooxidans English Abstract Objectives: The objective of this study was to investigate for a possible presence of iron oxidizing bacteria, in particular Thiobacilluses and leptospirillum , and to evaluate their contribution in the lixiviation of copper ores. Methodology and Results: Two types of samples were selected from the solution of lixiviation : the pulp’s filtrate and the pulp. Every sample has been sowed on the thioglycholate resazurine medium and planted out on blood gelose in anaerobic. None of the two studied bacteria grew in the pulp's filtrate while Thiobacillus ferroxidans was isolated in the pulp's solid. The temperature influence and the pH of 1,5 to the heart of the slagheap varied following the activity of the microbial heat, as well as the energy sources for the microbial growth that were favorable for the development of Thiobacillus and unfavorable for the development of Leptospirillum which only grows on the Fe 2+ and to a very acidic pH, lower to 1, in the lixiviation of copper ores. Conclusion and applications: In our study on the chemical transformations achieved by the living organisms in the lixiviation of the copper, only Thiobacillus ferrooxidans has been detected. The lixiviation is especially used in the case of copper ores, because the formed copper sulphate during the oxidization of the copper sulphide ores is very water-soluble. However, Acidithiobacillus and other metal-oxidizing procaryotes can catalyze the oxidization of the mineral sulphides to a higher rate, contributing thus to the setting in solution of metal.
