This paper discussed the challenges which are associated with theteaching and learning of English Grammar in Nigeria secondaryschools. Grammar is the spinal cord of any language and the user'smastery of it determines his competence and performance in thelanguage. Furthermore, the factors which make teaching and learningof English Grammar a serious challenge were also discussed.Recommendations to make grammar teaching and learning lessburdensome were also made.
