豊田高専の作品は,平成16年第1回全国高専デザ インコンペティションから設けられた構造デザインコ ンペティション(以下ブリッジコンテストと呼ぶ)お よび平成17年第2回ブリッジコンテストで連続最優 秀賞(文部科学大臣賞)を受賞した. 第1回ブリッジコンテストは,全国高専から21作 品が参加した.競技内容は,1mスパン(支持点間隔) に架ける木製ブリッジ(自重200g以内)の中央に集 中載荷して,耐荷力等を競うものである.本高専の作 品の耐荷力は999.6Nであった.この作品には,形の すばらしさからアイデア賞も受賞している.第2回ブ リッジコンテストは,45作品が参加した.競技内容 は,1mスパン(支持点間隔)に架ける木製ブリッジ (自重300g以内)の中央から両側に15cmの点に荷重 を載荷する2点集中載荷して,耐荷力等を競うもので ある.本高専の作品の耐荷力は,1960Nであった. 本報では,ブリッジコンテストへの参加と対策に関 連した教育カリキュラムと成果の関係について報告す るとともに,入賞作品に至る創作の工夫と発展経緯に ついて報告する.
