Context refers to various situations in which language communication takes place. Context analysis plays an indispensable role in the entire process of translation. The present paper attempts, via analyzing some English title translations, to indicate that the meaning of words should be accurately chosen, and that translations of English titles is based on adequate understanding of original context. The purpose is to heighten the awareness of translators that context can never be neglected, and that a good translation of English titles depends not only on translators’ linguistic competence, their cultural and other related knowledge, but also the understanding of the context involved.
