近年、民間でマルチプルピンホール(M.P.H)を有する眼鏡が利用されているが、その有用性は明らかではない。今回我々は、M.P.Hを使用し、視力、コントラスト感度において、どのような影響があるのかを遠視群、近視群において比較検討を行った。その結果、裸眼にM.P.Hを装用した場合において、遠視群では近見視力が、近視群では遠見視力の向上が見られた。しかし、完全矯正下においては、遠視群、近視群ともに遠見、近見視力および全空間周波数において、コントラスト感度が低下した。よつてM.P.Hは、少なくとも正常人において完全矯正下では、視力、コントラスト感度を低下させる可能性がある。
