Increased concentrations of airborne bacteria are known to be associated with decreased public health. As such, we evaluated the culturable concentration and distribution characteristics of airborne bacteria at four sampling sites in Hangzhou, southeast China. Results showed that the concentration of culturable bacteria in the air at selected sampling sites ranged from 0.05). Taken together these results provide a baseline for airborne culturable bacteria in southeast China, and will enable evaluation of the risks to human health from exposure to the atmosphere in the region.
