We prove an analogue of the Riemann-Hurwitz theorem for computing Eulercharacteristics of pullbacks of coherent sheaves through finite maps of smoothprojective varieties, subject only to the condition that the irreduciblecomponents of the branch and ramification locus have simple normal crossings.
