1.緒 言 一般に,硫 化金属鉱 山の廃水は酸性 が強 く,ま た重金 属 イオ ンの含有量 も多い。 とくに,硫 化鉄鉱物を多 く含 む鉱山では,廃 水 中に多量の鉄イオ ンや硫酸 イオ ンを含 み,炭 カルや消石灰 による中和処理 のさい,水 酸化鉄や 石膏を主成分 とする多量の 中和殿物を生ず る。 このよう な中和殿物は,従 来,選 鉱廃滓ダムなどに処分 されてい るが,ダ ムの延命や資源活用の観点か ら,積 極 的な殿物 利用の技術開発が要 望されている。 当研究室では,中 和殿物の処理 に浮選法を適用 して, 殿物中の水酸化鉄,水 酸化 アル ミニ ウム,石 膏などを分 離 ・回収す る一連 の研究を行な ってきた。 もともと浮選 法 は鉱物を対象に して発展 して きた ものであ り,化 学沈 殿物の浮選挙動は未 だよ く把握 されて いないのが現状で あ る。そのため,ま ず基礎研究 として各殿物の浮遊性を 調べ,さ らに混合 殿物の浮選分離性 を検討 した。さ らに, 殿物浮選の応用研究 と して,同 和鉱業(株)柵原鉱山と旧松 尾鉱山の坑内水中和殿物の浮選分離につ いて研究 を行 な った。本文 ではその概要を とりまとめて報告する。
