バルクの示す物性と,これを微細化していったナノ粒子, ナノチューブなどの示す物性が大きく異なることが,さまざ まな材料を用いて調製した系において報告されている。例え ば,炭素原子からなるフラーレン,カーボンナノチューブや グラフェンが,バルクの炭素材料(グラファイトや無定形炭 素など)とは異なる物性を示すことを数多くの研究者が報告 している 。 炭素以外の元素から形成される微細構造材料についても, 調製方法の発達とともに,さまざまなナノチューブやナノ粒 子が調製されており,その特異的な性質に対する知見が集約 されつつある。このトピックスでは,金属あるいは金属化合 物からなり,その内・外径がナノメートル~マイクロメート ルサイズのチューブ(以下,極細チューブ)に焦点を絞り,そ の調製方法や応用分野について概説するとともに,我々が最 近行っている無電解めっき法と電界紡糸法を組み合わせた金 属あるいは金属酸化物極細チューブの調製方法とその応用に ついて紹介する。 2 .金属あるいは金属化合物極細チューブの調製方法 と機能
