The Myogog Formation is distributed in a small basin area of the northern margin of Cretaceous Gyeongsang basin. It is known as only one basin of the geologic age between the Daedong and the Gyeongsang supergroups. The age of the formation was regarded as being younger than the Daedong Supergroup (Late Triassic to Early Jurassic) and older than the Gyeongsang Supergroup (Early Cretaceous).
