espanolEl presente articulo busca dar cuenta de la trayectoria vital de la compositora y musica chilena Maria Luisa Sepulveda Maira (1883-1957) a partir de su condicion sexo-biologica y su construccion de genero. A partir de las bibliografias que contienen los rastros de su “memoria” y de su legado creativo, proponemos hacer una relectura critica que la reposicione a partir de la agencia que desarrollo a lo largo de toda su vida. Teniendo en cuenta la “emocionalidad” que portan los relatos escritos, en este caso la bibliografia en torno a ella, invitamos a liberarla de dichas cargas subjetivas, para comprender y sopesar de mejor manera su carrera profesional y aporte a la escena musical chilena de la primera mitad del siglo XX. Esta relectura, que no pretende ser un estudio acabado en torno a su figura, aporta tambien un analisis a partir de herramientas etnograficas de su “presencia presente” en la escena chilena de musica academica. EnglishThis article seeks to give an account of the life trajectory of Chilean musician and composer Maria Luisa Sepulveda Maira (1883-1957) on the basis of her sexual-biological condition and her gender construction. Drawing from bibliographies that contain traces of her “memory” and creative legacy, we propose a critical re-reading that repositions her based on the agency she developed during her life. Taking into account the “emotionality” carried by written narratives, in this case, the bibliography centered around her, we make an invitation to free her from these subjective loads in order to better comprehend and examine both her career and her contribution to the Chilean music scene of the first half of the 20th Century. This re-reading does not pretend to be a completed study regarding her figure, but rather it contributes an analysis of her “present presence” on the Chilean academic music scene based on ethnographic tools.
