La investigacion trata del origen, formacion y desarrollo del movimiento atacameno contemporaneo, su organizacion y toma de conciencia de los beneficios que traera consigo la unificacion pese a las diferencias internas. En este contexto se presenta la etnopolitica atacamena asociada a la formacion de una burocracia indigena que guia los procesos de cambios y transformacion multicultural en las ultimas tres decadas. El presente trabajo es el resultado de la reconstruccion oral y documental de procesos de municipalizacion y reconocimiento cultural como grupo indigena. Palabras claves: etnicidad - indigenas andinos - etno-burocracia - atacamenos. The research deals with the origin, formation and development of the contemporary Atacameno movement, focusing on its organization and awareness of the benefits of unification, despite the internal differences. Thus an Atacameno ethnopolitics appeared associated with the formation of an Indian bureaucracy that has guided the process of change and multicultural transformation in the last three decades to the present. This work is the result of the oral and documentary reconstruction of the process whereby this movement acceded to municipal administration and to their cultural recognition as an indigenous group.
