espanolEl objetivo de este trabajo es realizar una puesta al dia acerca de lo que hoy sabemos sobre las ocupaciones de la cueva III de Huachichocana (Jujuy, Argentina) para el periodo que va desde inicios del Holoceno Temprano hasta el Formativo. Los materiales analizados corresponden a las investigaciones realizadas en la localidad homonima en la decada de 1970. A partir del estudio de la coleccion arqueologica y la bibliografia correspondiente, se procuro ir mas alla de la descripcion capa-objeto, preponderante en la bibliografia consultada, evaluando la posibilidad de detectar asociaciones que indiquen areas de actividades multiples o especificas, que nos permitan caracterizar las ocupaciones de esta cueva, a la vez que re-evaluar los contextos funerarios. Dentro de esta reconstruccion tambien se atendio a la reasignacion de cronologias a los materiales y a la posibilidad de que elementos originalmente informados como propios de un nivel/subcapa/periodo pertenezcan a otro. Se informan nuevos fechados radiocar-bonicos y analisis especificos sobre diversos materiales. EnglishThe aim of this paper is to update our knowledge of the occupations at Huachichocana cave III (Jujuy, Argentina) during the time span ranging from the beginning of the Early Holocene to the Formative. The analysed remains correspond to studies carried out in the Huachichocana locality during the 1970s. From the study of the archaeological collection and of the associated bibliography, an attempt was made to go beyond the prevailing layer-object description present in the bibliography consulted, assessing the possibility of detecting associations which point out areas of multiple or specific activities, allowing us to characterize the past occupations of this cave, and also to re-evaluate thefunerary contexts. Also, the reassignment ofnew chronologies to some materials was considered in this reconstruction, as well as the possibility that some elements originally informed as belonging to a certain level/layer/period belonged to another. New radiocarbon dates and specific analyses are also informed.
