We observed the roentgenological &amp; bacteriological results of anti-tuberculous chemotherapy among the 86 of newly diagnosed, previously untreated patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who had visited to our clinic since September 1958 to April 1960.In addition, we also studied the prevalence of bacillary resistant to S.M., P.A.S. and I.N.H. among them.The results we obtained are as follows:1) 79 % of them showed roentgenological improvement during the course of antituberculous chemotherapy.(Marked Imp: 22%, Mod. Imp.: 26 %, Slight Imp.: 31%) 2) Sputum negative conversion was seen in 89%, and most of them converted within 4 months of chemotherapy. It is believed also that an adequate bed rest still played an important role in the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis.3) Persistent positive sputum was seen in 11% and most of them had cavitary lesions, longer duration until diagnosed and irregular treatment.4) Sensitivity tests to S.M. P.A.S. and I.N.H. were under-taken oh 69 positive culture The rates of primary drug-resistant were as follows; S .M. (10r.) 13%, P.A.S. (10r.) 4%, I.N.H.(5r.) 13%.
