Pentecostalism is a religion by the extracts more feedback from socially disadvantaged population: the poor. So far nothing new, Antonio Gouvêa Mendonça and Ricardo Mariano, for example, has pointed to this reality. But why is that? If so, what are the affinities between Pentecostalism and poverty? In this sense, this test becomes relevant, as it seeks to shed light on some issues underlying this reality. For this reason, attempts by means of two approaches, a socio-political and other theological correlate phenomena, characteristics and affinities with the aim of much questioning the subject and provoke the reader and whet his curiosity about the subject on screen than be entered totalizing answers.   O pentecostalismo é uma religião retroalimentada socialmente pelos estratos mais carentes da população: os pobres. Até aqui nada de novo, Mendonça e Mariano, por exemplo, já apontaram para essa realidade. Mas por que isso ocorre? Se há, quais são as afinidades eletivas entre pentecostalismo e pobreza? É nesse sentido que este ensaio se torna pertinente, pois procura lançar luz sobre algumas questões subjacentes a essa realidade. Para isso, tenta-se, por meio de duas abordagens, uma sociopolítica e outra teológica, correlacionar fenômenos, afinidades e características, com o fito muito mais de problematizar o assunto, de provocar o leitor e de aguçar sua curiosidade sobre a temática em tela, do que exarar respostas totalizantes.  </p

Bem aventurados os ‘pobres’; porque eles reinam (ao menos) no ‘pentecostalismo’
