The rapid growth of information communication technologies (ICTs) has caused tremendous growth in spheres of the world. In the educational and learning sphere, ICTs have the ability to facilitate learning anytime and anywhere. Traditional ways of delivering teaching and learning have been reshaped by smart learning (SL). Educators are not the only sources of information and learners can participate in different locations at the same. Smart learning has completely revamped, advanced, and professionalized methods of teaching and learning. It establishes learning environments that enable learning without time and location restrictions. The learning environments are adapted to the learner’s needs. The purpose of the study was to design a smart learning model that will be adopted in the Ekurhuleni North District secondary schools. In order to achieve this, relevant literature was reviewed by the researcher, and a research model was developed.
