International audienceThe image of old age in the media reveals a tension between the denial of aging and vulnerability, represented mainly by Alzheimer’s disease. Based on an analysis of a corpus of TV shows since 1988, we bring to light the discourse of experts selected mainly from the fields of medicine and biology and describing old age in terms of illness. These shows reproduce an ideological model whereby scientific truth can help find future solutions through all kinds of consumer products and technologies, thus contributing to producing a myth of immortality in which physical and sports activities become inescapable.L’image de la vieillesse dans les médias témoigne d’une tension entre le refus de vieillir et la «  vulnérabilité  », représentée essentiellement par la maladie d’Alzheimer. A partir d’une analyse d’un corpus d’émissions télévisées depuis  1988, nous éclairons les discours des experts, choisis principalement dans le domaine de la médecine et de la biologie, décrivant la vieillesse en termes de maladie. Les messages diffusés reproduisent un modèle idéologique, celui de la vérité de la science face aux solutions futures de consommation de toutes sortes de produits et de techniques, concourant à produire le mythe de l’immortalité. Les activités physiques et sportives deviennent incontournables
