Eight healthy males, 23 to 55 years of age, were administered with 0.5 mg of tri moprostil, a new synthetic PGE 2 analog developed as an antiulcer agent, to evaluate the effect on gastric emptying and gastrointestinal hormones. The gastric emptying action, serum gastrointestinal hormones and serum drug levels were measured by the radioisotope method, radioimmunoassay, and enzyme immunoassay, respectively . There was no marked change in gastric emptying caused by trimoprostil except for shortened half-life in 2 cases. Likewise, little influence was observed on serum gas tiointesinal hormones except for a slight lowering of serum gastrin levels .
