This paper described a convenient and efficient route for the synthesis of 1-alkyl-2, 3, 4, 5tetramethoxy-6-methylbenzene, which are the key intermediate for the synthesis of C-6 substituted Coenzyme Q analogues. All the reactions are operationally simple and amenable to gram-scale synthesis.
