By the use of maps from the Linguistic and Ethnographic Atlas of Aragon, Navarra, and Rioja (ALEANR), as well as Julio Caro Baroja's writings, the article discusses the coexistence of Basque and Castilian in Vera de Bidasoa, which is reflected in the presence of loanwords and translation loanwords from one language to the other. In addition, the article deals with the degree of stability of semantic fields: which ones tend to be more receptive, and which ones more averse, to borrowings from the second language.
