Prvi dio članka sažima razvoj mađarskog hospicijsko-palijativnog pokreta u tipičnoj istočno-europskoj situaciji nakon političkih promjena početkom 1990-ih godina. Proces integracije u sustav zdravstvene skrbi započeo je u 1993. i još nije završen. Krajem 2001. godine Mađarska je imala četiri hospicijsko-palijativne jedinice sa 56 kreveta, 13 timova za hospicijsku skrb u kući, dva dnevna centra za skrb i dva mobilna hospicijska tima za podršku. Također, postoje hospicijsko-palijativni timovi u pet domova za njegu. Hospicijske jedinice za bolesnike financirane su kao dio bolničkog proračuna (kao kronični odjeli). Timovi za skrb u kući su podržani od strane Nacionalnog fonda za zdravstveno osiguranje u skladu s regulativama za skrb u kući, ali oni mogu opstati samo uz pomoć darova i donacija. Drugi dio članka prikazuje jedan od specijalnih oblika hospicijskog servisa: bolnički podržavajući tim (mobilni tim) koji djeluje unutar Židovske dobrotvorne bolnice u Budimpešti. Mobilni tim je poželjnije i isplativije rješenje. Pacijenti dobivaju skrb u svojoj uobičajenoj okolini, a praksa ne zahtijeva osnivanje odvojenog odjela ili jedinice. U isto vrijeme podržavajuća skrb koju nude specijalno obučeni zaposlenici, može dovesti do pozitivnih promjena u tradicionalnom sustavu zdravstvene skrbi.The first part of the paper summarizes the development of the Hungarian hospice-palliative movement in a typical Eastern European situation, after the political changes from the beginning of 1990\u27s years. The process of integration into the healthcare system started in 1993 and it has not finished yet. At the end of 2001, Hungary had 4 hospice palliative (inpatient) units with 56 beds, 13 hospice home care teams, two day care centres and 2 hospice mobile supportive teams. There are also hospice/palliative teams in five nursing homes. Hospice inpatient units are financed as part of hospital budgets (as chronic departments). The home care teams are supported by the National Health Insurance Fund in compliance with the regulations for special home care, but they can survive only with help of the grants and donations. The second part of the paper introduces one of the special forms of hospice services: the hospital supportive team (mobile team), working in the Jewish Charity Hospital in Budapest. The mobile team is a preferable and cost-effective solution. Patients get care in their usual environment and the practice does not require setting up a separate ward or unit. At the same time the supportive care – offered by a specially trained staff – can generate positive changes of attitude in the traditional health care system
