Autism in a Child Psychiatry DepartmentAutism in a Child Psychiatry DepartmentAn ethnographic study was carried out in a Parisian child psychiatry unit in order to analyse the relationship between the parents of autistic children and the hospital staff. The objective was to discriminate between formal interviews and casual talks, and to identify the discrepancies between the practices and the official recommendations. By focusing on the daily activities and social contacts in the hospital our observations aimed at assessing the professionals' management of the relationship between parents and children, and at better understanding the parents' demands.Afin d'analyser les relations entre parents et professionnels lors de la prise en charge de l'autisme, une étude ethnographique a été réalisée dans un service parisien de pédopsychiatrie. L'objectif était de distinguer discours formels et informels et d'identifier les écarts entre pratiques et recommandations. En s'intéressant aux activités et aux échanges dans l'exercice quotidien, nos observations visaient à étudier les modalités d'encadrement de la relation parents/enfants par les professionnels et à mieux comprendre les revendications parentales
