Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignancy of bone in teenagersand approximately 30% of patients develop lung metastasis, which is the leadingcause of mortality. Recent studies suggest that the Ezrin protein is correlatedwith the metastatic potential of several malignant tumors. In our study, ectopicoverexpression of miR-183 repressed the expression levels of Ezrin and significantlyinhibited the motility and invasion of osteosarcoma cells. This suggests thatmiR-183 may possibly play a tumor suppressor role in the metastasis of osteosarcomaby downregulating Ezrin expression levels. These findings show that through inhibitionof Ezrin expression levels, miR-183 is significantly involved in cell migrationand invasion of osteosarcoma.

miR-183 inhibits the metastasis of osteosarcoma via downregulation of the expression of Ezrin in F5M2 cells
