Observations show that twisted magnetic flux tubes are present throughout thesun's atmosphere. The main aim of this work is to obtain the damping rate ofsausage modes in the presence of magnetic twist. Using the connection formulaeobtained by Sakurai et al. (1991), we investigate resonant absorption of thesausage modes in the slow continuum under photosphere conditions. We derive thedispersion relation and solve it numerically and consequently obtain thefrequencies and damping rates of the slow surface sausage modes. We concludethat the magnetic twist can result in strong damping in comparison with theuntwisted case.
