An analytical model is derived for the attenuation of fundamental\udand higher-order (both axisymmetric and non-axisymmetric)\udacoustic modes caused by viscothermal losses in the acoustic\udboundary layer. Flow convection effects are included in the modeling\udby assuming a uniform mean axial velocity profile. The\udproposed model can be applied to calculate the damping of the\udacoustic waves propagating in wide circular flow ducts with rigid\udwalls. A simple and effective way of including the mean flow\udconvection in the modeling for the attenuation of the fundamental\udmode is also suggested.th
