てんかん発作としての時間感覚の異常を示す5例をとりあげ文献と共に考察した。ここにいう時間感覚の異常とはウイーン学派のいうZeitrafferphanomen, Zeitlupenphanomen, Penfieldのいうillusion of alteration in tempoに相当し, 空間化された時間体験の異常である。歴史的には神経心理学的に後頭一頭頂部病巣が示唆されていたが, てんかん発作の場合は間歇期脳波として側頭部焦点が多く, 症候論的にも側頭葉てんかんの症状を併発することが多い。しかし, 要素的幻視, 身体図式障害なども合併発作として認められ, Penfieldの報告, 既往歴などからも頭頂, 後頭部てんかんもあり得ることを指摘した。てんかんの場合は本症に関し半球優位を見出し得ない。
