変形性膝関節症の患者 (45名) を対象に膝症状と圧痛閾値との関連性を検討し, 圧痛点の診断的意義について考察した。調査対象は膝内側に痛みを訴え, 変形性膝関節症と診断された患者45名とした。鷲足部と内側関裂隙部の圧痛は指頭圧痛計で測定した。また膝状態は日本整形外科学会膝関節機能評価 (JOAスコア), 膝スコア, 膝の痛みをVASで評価した。その結果, 鷲足部と内側関節裂隙部の圧痛閾値の変化は疼痛に関する項目との関連性が強く, 特にJOAスコアの疼痛・階段昇降能や膝スコアの屈曲時痛, 主観的な膝の痛み (VAS) と高い相関を示した。このことから, 変形性膝関節症患者の鷲足部と内側関節裂隙部の圧痛閾値を正確に測定することは膝の痛み状態を客観的に把握することにつながり, 臨床的に意義があることが示唆された。
