【はじめに】高血圧を伴う症例を古典理論にもとづいて、鍼治療を行って来たところ、4年間の血圧データを有する症例の観察結果が得られたので報告する。【方法】治療として、本治は脈診法を中心に診察し難経六十九難に従い四肢に4穴、腹鍼として中焦の中院と下焦の気海丹田を選穴した。標治は背部にほぼ8カ所選び銀鍼18号を用い、深度は表在筋に達する程度とした。【結果】この古典鍼法によって明らかに最高血圧が治療開始後34週目から低め安定に誘導されていることが確認された。【考察】本症例では内服薬の変更、気候や社会的要因の変化が特に見当たらないことから、この効果は鍼治療によるものと言える。【結論】このことから古典鍼法による血圧降下には何らかの機序が作用しているものと考えられる。
