仮想空間上に実空間の建造物をモデリングする手段として, 建造物の形状を表す複数の測定点群を, 自動的に配置する位置合わせ手法がある. 点群位置合わせ手法は, 点ベースの手法と特徴量ベースの手法に分類される. 点ベースの手法は, 位置合わせの精度が高いという利点があるが, 計算量が膨大である. 一方, 特徴量ベースの手法は, 点ベースの手法よりも計算量が圧倒的に少ないが, 位置が合う特徴量を抽出するのが困難である. 本論文では, 位置合わせに有効な特徴量を安定的に抽出し, 複数の方向から測定した点群を同一の3次元空間へ配置するための手法を提案する. 本研究では, 建造物の直線的な特徴に着目し, 測定点群から直線的な特徴線を抽出する. 複数の測定点群に対して, 効率的なマッチング手法を用いて, 特徴線同士が一致するような幾何変換を求めることで, 点群位置合わせを行う. 大型レンジセンサを用いて測定された実際の建造物の点群に対して, 本手法を適用し有効性を確認した.
