農林水産業は,人間の生存に必要な食料や生活資 材などを供給する必要不可欠な活動であり,自然に 働きかけ,その恵みを享受する生産活動であるとと もに,その営みを通じて,人々にとって身近な里 地・里山・里海といった自然環境を形成し,多様な 野生生物種が生育・生息する上で重要な役割を果た してきました。その一方で,経済性や効率性を優先 した農地や水路の整備,不適切な農薬・肥料の使 用,農業集落からの生活排水などによる水質の悪化 や埋め立てなどによる藻場・干潟の減少など生物多 様性への配慮に欠けた活動が野生生物種の生育・生 息環境を劣化させ,生物多様性に大きな影響を与え てきました。 こうした課題に対応し,生物多様性の保全を重視 した農林水産業を推進するための指針として,農林 水産省は平成 19 年 7 月に「農林水産省生物多様性 戦略」(平成 24 年 2 月 22 日改定)を策定し,生物 多様性の保全に資する施策の実施に取り組んできま した。 また,平成 22 年に策定された「サンゴ礁生態系 保全行動計画 2016-2020」に参画し,重点的に取り 組むべき課題に沿った取組を行っています。 「サンゴ礁生態系保全行動計画 2016-2020」 の重点課題に沿った農林水産省の取組
